About the Clearinghouse & disclaimer

What we are

The Denaturalization Defense Clearinghouse is a volunteer effort whose sole function is to try to connect naturalized U.S. citizens who are facing denaturalization with lawyers who have volunteered to represent citizens in denaturalization cases on a pro bono (no charge for their legal services) basis. We are not a law firm, and we are not a substitute for a lawyer.

Disclaimer

Important: The Denaturalization Defense Clearinghouse is not a law firm and is not engaged in the practice of law. The Clearinghouse does not provide legal advice and does not represent you. Submitting this form does not create an attorney-client relationship with the Clearinghouse or with any lawyer. The Clearinghouse will make its best efforts to identify a volunteer lawyer who may be willing to consider representing you on a pro bono basis, but it cannot guarantee that a lawyer will be found or that any lawyer will agree to take your case. If you have an urgent deadline (such as a response date in a court case), you should seek legal help immediately and should not rely solely on this Clearinghouse.

Confidentiality practices

We treat the information submitted through our forms as sensitive. Access is limited to authorized Clearinghouse staff and volunteers on a need-to-know basis, for the purpose of attempting to match citizens with volunteer lawyers. If a potential match is identified, client personal identifying information and basic case information may be shared with a prospective volunteer lawyer so that the lawyer can check for conflicts of interest and decide whether to make contact. For full details on what we collect, how long we keep it, who it may be shared with, and how to request deletion, please see our Privacy Policy.

Please note: because the Clearinghouse is not your lawyer, information you share with the Clearinghouse is generally not protected by the attorney-client privilege.
